The New York City Shack Art Project is a social service project in New York City created to help NYC restaurant workers. The Covid-19 pandemic started shutting down restaurants in March 2020 and many restaurants and restaurant workers have still not fully recovered. The shacks built are art forms in themselves. We aim to help by photographing pandemic-era restaurant outdoor dining shacks and compiling them into a book. All profits from the book will go to ROAR NY, a charity dedicated to helping pandemic affected restaurant workers. All New York City middle school students are eligible to participate and submit photos, but we only ask you to do it on your own and without the help of an adult.
